(I am trying to have a go at this, and C was giving me problems, either too high or too low for my limited breaths)
Nice take, @U CAN CALL ME AL very subtle!Lots of questions and videos of OP’s takes. After watching the performance of Misters Allen and Kemp, mine is lacking growls, flutter tongue, altissimo screams and other such rock requirements. Nevertheless I will dare to post!
Hey man, groove or not, it sounds good!View: https://soundcloud.com/user-805266588/jambalaya?si=e09e5ceefd5043bb8e811732648d935a&utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing
I thought I'd really enjoy soloing on this one, but I really can't find a groove that I'm liking. But here's a shot, may have another before the end of the month!
Do you feel lucky? Well do ya?I could post a "punk version"![]()
I did!Do you feel lucky? Well do ya?
Love it...Clever bunchI made a recording based on the Roomful of Blues version, but thankfully without me attempting to sing. I had transcribed their horn section parts and played them on soprano (for trumpet) and baritone and then attempted the melody and solo on tenor.

I thought the BiaB backing in their key (Eb) and tempo (163bpm) using Mardi Gras RealTracks was quite fun, but I sacked the bass player as he was just doubling up the piano left hand line.

Listened to it last time...Good version....Song starts at 12:06, lengthy sax solo at 18:24 - listen and learn!
