Hi Pete. I've recently started playing alto again after many years of tenor, etc.. I'm playing a Meyer 6M on my Martin altos, which I like a lot - much more than my Selmer Soloist (modern) F, Super Session E, and others - but I find it too bright. The sound I'm looking for is 1930s Benny Carter. Joe Crossman, sweet singing vintage tone. The best m/p I ever had was a vintage Selmer Soloist D but I stupidly sold it. My question is: will your refaced Selmer give me the sort of tone I want with the comfort/ease of the Meyer?
