Someone just asked this on YouTube. I have not tried it, but I think a device like the Kenton Midi USB Host will do that. They are NOT cheap, though.Hello! Great review! I can't find a video regarding how to record midi (ex Cubase), or how you connect Yds to a different synthesizer or module ( ex Korg Pa). Thank you,
At the moment (to my knowledge), you can only go to the "Voice" page and choose the various options, which include all the sax and synth setups. Then you modify them.Would like some information on how to copy current internal voices or changed voices to the User banks (U01-U20) so that they can be saved and used when the unit is turned off and back on. Also need them to be available without the use of the app. Don't know for sure if this is possible but hope there is a way to do this. Thanks
OK, then kinda confused on what the User Voice bank (U01-U20) is for and how to save date to them.At the moment (to my knowledge), you can only go to the "Voice" page and choose the various options, which include all the sax and synth setups. Then you modify them.
Left the alto A01 to A17. Right, the "Synth" sounds C01 to C17

Great, I will try that and hopefully it will permanently save it to the User group on the YDS so I can use it off line. You use the app to go to Voice and set up the sound you want, then save it with a name when you exit.
The voice page shows U01 to U20. I can't remember what the initial values are. If you want to put the A02 sound as U01, you click on the first voice on the list, the parameters pop up, and you choose the second Alto sound, then adjust the other parameters to suit you. For example, you can take a given existing sound and change the pitch by a number of half steps up or down. You can add effects like distortion, or chorus, etc. Then upon exiting that voice page you say yes when it's asks if you want to save it (or no to abandon).
By chance, when I ordered the YDS, I was told it would be delivered first part of November. It came 10 days early, so I felt after playing around, that I'd do a long post here. The rest is history, a dozen videos, the length of this that has become a review, etc. I'm glad it has interested and hopefully helped some interested players.Great, I will try that and hopefully it will permanently save it to the User group on the YDS so I can use it off line.
Thanks for the info and keep up with the great info you have provided for this forum.
Yes, correct i've tryed every possibile combination..... Yds is a bluetooth receiver but not a transmitter!!!!You mean, listen to the YDS on bluetoth headphones, I don't think so. Listen with headphones to music to play with via bluetooth from a phone or tablet, yes.
I cant put the YDS150 down, the sounds aren't quite as good as the ones from "mr sax", and not as good as the genuine alto sax which I have , but I think they are fine for practicing , especially when using headphones, they sound pretty good. I was already OK at embouchure , breath control etc so I don't mind that the YDS 150 doesn't teach me that.
I am having a ball , I absolutely love the YDS and my fingering has improved so much in a few days. when I went back to my real alto sax I found I could play it better than ever.
Thats good to hear Miles. I have had an idea and am going to try to implement it. , because I normally play an alto sax it would be great to have the option to have the YDS and mouth piece positioned the same as an alto when playing it, so I am going to make myself an angled plastic tube to go between the main body of the instrument and the mouth piece. , I have ordered some plastic parts to make it, it will be removable , I won't be modifying the instrument at all. If it works out I will try to post about it.I agree completely.
I've had mine for a month or so. I've been using it a lot, at any time of day, with headphones and a long charging cable. I play soprano, so it's very natural for me, balance and all. The fingering translates very well to the real thing, so I've been practicing scales on it, and i also use it to learn new tunes. It's always in tune, so as i hear in tune on the YDS, it helps me play in tune on the real thing. ( i hope that made sense). I play much more in tune since i got it. My fingering has also improved, it's been noticeably tidied up.
You've seen the 3D printed ones, right?option to have the YDS and mouth piece positioned the same as an alto
I hadn't seen that , but thanks , it looks better than what I had in mind. You've seen the 3D printed ones, right?
