How to sponsor CafeSaxophone using our ad manager​

Ads​

We offer banner advertising space based on CPC (cost per click) or CPM (cost per 1000 views). Currently costs are $2 per click or $6 per 1000 views, but with large are discounts for ordering in bulk, and considerably larger if you have a commercial account upgrade (on top of the quantity discounts).

Ads are geo-targetable, so there need be no wasted views, you pay only for the views you get. This means not just when ads are displayed on a page, but ads that are actually viewable, so an ad at the bottom of the page does not count as a view until the user has scrolled down and the ad becomes visible. Robots are not included and IP based click fraud prevention is in place.

Banner size on desktop can be up to a whopping 1000 x 150, fully responsive with 2x retina support.

Promotional threads​

Advertisers are also able to make commercial threads (product or event announcements) which are not normally allowed on the forum. They can answer questions about their products on the forum (subject to our not over the top marketing rules).

You can purchase a thread or threads with varying durations. For a small extra charge the threads will be sticky (ie "stuck"to the top of the forum page).

If you have a commercial account upgrade you get a further discounts for promo threads on top of quantity discounts.

Using the ad manager​

The ad manager is surprisingly easy to use, however we can also still process ads manually and give you access to your stats etc. We can also provided banner design/editing service.

• Sign up for a Cafe Saxophone account and go the the Ads manager (See main navigation About > Advertise or at the footer of every page)
• In Create Ad Choose your ad position package.
• Create your ad (for banner ads you will need a jpg* or webp banner that you upload from your desktop).
• Click Geotarget (optional) to choose which countries/continents you want the ad displayed. (No need to waste views if your product is local)
• Hint: ignore Device Criteria, all ads will be responsive.
• Once created your ad will be pending, and you will be notified when it is approved.
• Once approved you will see an invoice in your advertiser account.
• Payment via card is processed with Paypal or Stripe. Once paid you you can view stats, pause or extend the ad. If you prefer you can contact us for other payment methods, e.g. bank transfer

Audience

Average actual banner views = 4000+ per day (obviously fewer if geotargeted or rotated)

• 11% UK
• 39% other, with good representation in Europe and Australasia.

* Other image formats such as png can be converted to webp using our built-in image optimization on the forum:

• Create a thread in the test forum
• Embed your banner (it gets converted to webp when you post)
• Download the image
• Upload the smaller webp image to the create ad form
