I haven't touched my bass since my hernia got bad and that was 18 months ago. Nor my baritone. But I can try to dust them off.

I like the way you added the original Mr. Alto Reed part. We did not include that in the sheet music. Did you pick it up from my post reference?

I did yes, it just felt wrong not to include it. I Listened to the first video in your original post a number of times and pieced it together from that. I'm quite please with how it came out.

I wasn’t hinting at you. Don’t go hurting yourself again. That bass is not exactly light.

If only I'd thought to see if there already was a transcription, that would have saved a little time. At least it looks like I managed to get it pretty spot on, there's only the odd little variation, but that's what makes it unique. 😉

I already posted a link to a good (downloadable) transcription of the whole alto part in post #22 of this thread and played that on alto in my recording in post #24.

I've no idea how I missed that transcription. I even listened to your recording two posts down and decided I wanted to use the backing you used!

If you do use that backing it has a couple of places where the number of bars in a section are different to the chart - I didn't work out whether that matches the live recording or not. If you (or anyone else) wants a part for the alto sax or the vocal line for saxophone that actually matches the backing track, then start a conversation with me and I can probably share my dots as PDF exported from Sibelius.

I think it seemed to match the live recording pretty well but I can't say I played them against each other to check. The vocal part PigSquealer provided fitted for me and it worked out pretty nicely.

Yup. Drums, sax, electric bass, trumpet & trombone backing. Using Adobe Audition, a Mackie 2 channel mixer and an MXL capsule mic.
This is NOT going to be like the original. 😎
