The best way to estimate the year for a stencil horn is to find the King model it was based upon... and then add about five years. Yours has a front F and no split bell keys. At least the 1930's.
 
As I replied in the other thread you replied to, this is a King Cleveland model, their second-shelf models behind the Zephyr and Super 20.


typically one would scroll down to "Cleveland Serial Numbers" and it will get you the approximate date.

But...

"MM 981" is not a KIng nor King Cleve serial sequence at all, so the serial list does not help you, we gotta date it simply by physical attributes.

My knee-jerk response is with that serial, it isn't a King at all. But based on the fw pics you posted, it does, on quick look, appear to be a Cleveland indeed. Some stencils did not have mother factory serials, at the request of the stencil brand (in this case Pitt).

I would still say 50's-ish.
