I'm not familiar with the piece but to my ear it was played very well with feeling and sensitivity. Quite lovely.

She has a gift. What to do with it? Where to go with it?

Whatever you/she decide don't waste it. Nurture it, let it grow and share it.

Very sophisticated in that this not only has an ebb and flow in timing, but also dynamics and extreme sensitivity. Most taking lessons for years don't get this even when the dynamics are written. Great to hear natural talent.

I don't know where to start with the compliments, so I'll just skip to the most important one. The performance left me wanting to hear it over and over again and those are few and far between, even with professional musicians. I hope that you will encourage her to get some lessons with a good teacher to reinforce her reading skills and to build the technique necessary to open the door to the great literature for the instrument. This does not mean giving up playing pieces by ear which is equally important, but to compliment what she can do on her own.

In agreeing with all the positive comments above, and offering my own congratulations to the young lady who is such a natural, I feel obliged to add that any teacher selected must be chosen with care as it would be criminal to stifle enthusiasm and crush ambition. It is all too easy to seek to achieve "academic" goals and in doing so to put a brake on a young and burgeoning talent. In my very humble opinion it is more important to provide guidance and encouragement than tuition unless a professional musical career is on the cards. I have probably not expressed that very well but I am sure you know what I mean.

It is a pleasure to listen to such a sensitive rendering of a piece of music which I have never come across before.
