There are only 3 companies I am aware of that makes a modern C Melody MP.Ah, the elusive grail of the C-melody world. I'd like to believe it exists, but few players that I've heard seem to know about such an object.
What modern mouthpieces exist that work for most C-mels? If a table of mouthpieces exists in this thread, it would be worthy of its own thread, perhaps as a sticky.

I also have the Faxx, and one that is sold as a JJ Babbitt USA. Was just marked USA on the side, but that wore off very quickly. Both were cheap, and both play well for my skill level. There are some cheapos on eBay - Mouthpiece Planet (Faxx) and Weibster. I have both. Tone is ok, intonation is good.

They sound like the right sock to get the job done.Slightly drier sock or completely dry sock?
I updated the research in this last fall, but I suspect prices have gone up this year.... I'll do an update as time permits.A brief commentary by Ralph Morgan.

Member @Greychatter was kind enough to build this list for everyone.
There’s also the RPC flavor @LostCircuits makes if you ask nicely.
@DesertRoads thanks for the PM with multiple detail photos. Here’s my latest C Melody acquisition. It’s a 1918 Martin C Melody. It’s been repadded, corked, and new felts where needed. It plays very well, and is in nice condition for the age.

Where ?Well… I’ve seen several early Martin C Melody’s with the straight neck.
I inquired with all makers attending NAMM a few weeks ago. Nothing new available outside those already listed.I updated the research in this last fall, but I suspect prices have gone up this year.... I'll do an update as time permits.
Drop ‘em all in the pond behind the barn and pick whichever floats. What one of these six Couturier C tenors should I restore next. ? They range from 1922-1928.
"Behind the barn" being the operative phrase here. I've played a few C-Melody horns in my time. I don't own one...Drop ‘em all in the pond behind the barn and pick whichever floats.
Just off the phone with your daughter. “Dad will love this for Father’s Day”."Behind the barn" being the operative phrase here. I've played a few C-Melody horns in my time. I don't own one...
Yikes. You remind me of when I bought a harmonica for a friend’s 5 year old son right before they went on a cross country road trip.Just off the phone with your daughter. “Dad will love this for Father’s Day”.

I’ve tried to train her to not speak to instrument techs and other low-lifes. But, she’s all grown up, and after all, speaking as a low-life, she has me as a dad, so she’ll do as she wishes. That said, I’m visiting her in a month, and I’ll warn her about you…Just off the phone with your daughter. “Dad will love this for Father’s Day”.
You sir are the worst. Those poor parents. They were probably doomed to years of accordion torture afterwards.Yikes. You remind me of when I bought a harmonica for a friend’s 5 year old son right before they went on a cross country road trip.
Thank goodness my kids know better. They’d still do it, but they understand there might be consequences.

Beware of low-life shady characters playing death metal in dark alleys. Especially the ones on C melodies. Total bottom feeders.I’ve tried to train her to not speak to instrument techs and other low-lifes.
