Mouthpieces PPT Mouthpiece online

Darn just got my RPC (after 7 months) so will have to wait a little before buying....maybe an 8 would suite me. That would be between my 100/2 berg and the RPC (whatever it is).

what about `the PPTiagra`. if you can`t stop playing it in 24hours go see a doctor!

The 4th Tenor

Soon you will all be playing the Blues 8)

Play Da Blues!

Soon you could get a "Blue Peter" Badge :w00t: (signed certificate a la Francois Louis!)

P'link P'link Fizz.....

I'm dreaming of a "Blue Christmas"... not like the ones we had before.

Kind of Blue (right time 50 years on!)

It came upon a "Midnight"....clear

The "Midnight 'Trane" to Georgia

So anything related to "Midnight" and "Blue" which is the colour of the thing, after all! 8)

"In(to) the Navy......"

I got a touch of them old "Navy Blues"

Pay him his dues and get the "Blues"

Blues for All

All Blue

"Stuckon and the Themes" 😛

It's great. (I would say that wouldn't I?)

There's a bit of altissimo in the soundclip - not very high but it's a tricky little run from Bb - A - G. G is the hardest altissimo for me.

The clip is a very quick take, I'll probably redo it anyway and maybe add some more altissimo.

Makes me wish I could play tenor(like that)!
Not me, it's the mouthpiece, honest!
Any plans for an alto version, Pete ....
or are you happy with your RPC alto...is it the rollover version?
I use a Selmer Soloist as well as the RPC, but mostly the RPC, which looks to me like it has no rollover.

Yes, I am working on an alto PPT (and plans for a soprano and bari). My aim is for the alto one to have all the qualities of both the RPC and the Selmer soloist, for me that would be the perfect mouthpiece. If I succeed it I'm hoping it will be out early in the new year. Most of the work however is down to Ed Pillinger, he's the genius, I'm just the player with unfeasibly high expectations.

Tom,
I find the use of "Hype" either childish or offensive. Childish, if you meant it to be humorous, offensive, if not.
Pete and Ed know more about woodwind mouthpieces than most and declare their interests, unlike some, who one suspects of having an interest in Trevor Jones.
Sincerely and best regards.

Childishness is not the exclusive preserve of certain London Boroughs 😛
In Wales we call it "being a bit of a wind-up".

I am sure Pete and Ed know what they are doing (duh!) having emailed Ed several times on mouthpiece matters and expressed an interest in an Alto mouthpiece from him in the New Year.

Feel free to continue to have me as a focus of your discontent if you find it helpful. If you also want to post something helpful about some of the jazz that you listen to I am sure it would be appreciated by all concerned.

Kind regards, but a bit of frustration as well

I must make a public apology to Tom.
Had the misfortune to attend a minor public day school, at LEA expense, that taught values that are obviously old fashioned.
Therefore, in a tribute to modernism, the request that he withdraw his "Hype" remark , is withdrawn.

Still willing to buy you a pint next time you are in SW 19.

If I can just step in hear...

I didn't see the original post, but I think "Hype" is a word that different people interpret differently.

Used in very general terms it can be purely inoffensive and just mean favourable comments, reviews or speculation by the public.

When coupled to the producer of the merchandise and their advertising, then it can take on a meaning of "overenthusiastic marketing" or worse, "misleading marketing" as seen here:

http://www.johnpacker.co.uk/instruments/101709.htm

But very often it can just mean any kind of "below the line" marketing: mentioning it on fora would be construed as "hype" by some people and not mean anything worse than taking advantage of an opportunity to broadcast your commercial activities.

I don't mind admitting that I'm sort of hyping it in some ways, and maybe I expect to get away with more than I would if it wasn't a charity venture.

Anyway, I suggest you two resolve the matter by finding out what each others definition and inference is so we can all be friends here.

And then buy a mouthpiece

>:) >:)

Thanks Pete!

The timing of the mouthpiece was unfortunate for me as I had trialled several mouthpieces before choosing the Francois Louis Spectruoso which I am thrilled by, and also having a "Jazz" (Phil Barone) mouthpiece being bought for me for Xmas.

The Alto has a different timing - just before Francois Louis produces his in April 2009, so may well be interested in the New Year. It's just a shame I can't compare it to my Ponzol HR Vintage before purchase.

It sounds like the OG and myself have different subjective understandings of the word "Hype" which is why I edited the original post (just a bit of fun, and didn't want to upset anyone 🙁 ).

I am not actually aware of any "hype" in relation to the PPT, unless I have missed something. Sorry for my part in this.

Love & Peace
