Software New computer--Where's Audacity?

The old PC was beginning to show its age and could not accept Windows 11 since the Windows 10 updates will be disappearing next month.
The new Lenovo IdeaCentre AIO has taken over duties. There were a few programs that didn't seem to port over, including Audacity. I see that it is now part of MuseHub. I went through the registration process for it and Audio.com. Audacity seems to be just a part of it, and MuseHub keeps asking me to do installs of Audacity over and over. The version is 3.7. I'm going to check some online help videos to see if I am doing something wrong. Anyone else here having issues? Should I go with another recording software program? Thanks!

The MuseHub community/forum and/or support will probably be helpful, they have good developers over there. I hope you can get it sorted out! I'm on Macs and don't use Audacity but I use MuseScore with my students and it always seems to work well, so I'm guessing with a little support from the source you'll be able to use the software you're familiar with.

If for some reason you can't get it going, a good alternative for Windows is Reaper, which is by a very good developer and you can use the full version "on trial" for free indefinitely. (Always a good idea to eventually pay for a proper license if you find you love it and get a lot of use out of it, but as far as I know the trial version is full and unrestricted.)

I agree with Progger, this sounds like a good prompt for you to download Reaper. Spend 30 mins with it and you'll never want to go back to Audacity. Lots of useful tutorials on YouTube.

Free to download, but after spending a few weeks with it I was happy to pay (I think it was about £60, but that was a few years ago).

I got Audacity installed without the MuseHub. It seems that Windows doesn't have it or Audacity in their store, so they look for another way to install it. The practice recordings that I had made are gone, but that's ok. I only record for my own improvement analysis.
Reaper sounds very interesting, and I just may give it a try.
Hopefully, this is the end of this problem. I'll post here if anything unusual happens.
Thank you!!
