BOTM June BOTM 'Easy Living'

Even less time to play than normal overhere, but I just found this evening a short time frame to do a quick and dirty take (I did slow down the provided backing by 12%). Played on a new metal Theo Wanne Durga 12* mouthpiece with an old Plasticover 2 reed and no preparation.

- 'Easy Living' (Durga 12* - Plasticover 2 - slow): http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=13149888

Didn't listen to other takes yet, hope to be able to do that later this month (but my program is overloaded, will leave tomorrow for a week to the UK, so not sure if I can).

Thanks fibracell and Guenne for the nice comments 🙂. I was actually very surprised when I tried one of those Plasticovers after having played for a long time La Voz. La Voz is considered to be a dark reed, but I can actually get a darker sound out of the Plasticovers (maybe because I play very big tip sizes). Anyhow, I like them for the moment and they can get gritty too.

I also did in the same recording session a take in the original (faster) tempo of the backing and thought I might share that one too:

Finally just under the wire. Here is my alto version played on a Selmer SBA using my "classical mouthpiece" a Rousseau 5R since I am practicing a lot to play in my University Alumni Band this summer. I didn't have a picture of a beautiful woman to represent "easy living" like the one on the Desmond album, so I substituted another one I had on hand to put with my Sound Cloud recording. 🙂 Easy Living

Completely missed this months tune.
Glad I didn't miss your take though.
Great sound you're getting there, very envious.
