Where do I get a Vintage Alto

yep, Kit_Fisto, thats me!

300 with postage, not bad eh.

If its better than my Yas-275, ive done extreamly well (as I sold that before christmas for 470 pounds)

Yeah. Hopefully it will work as well as im told it does!

i'm quite confident that it will play ok as the seller told me that our very own Griff re-padded this horn last year. Im sure he did a great job of it.

Jambo,

Those are wonderful horns, and yours is a super fine condition example. You will enjoy the horn greatly I'm sure, and the tone is very similar to Conn 6M's of the same vintage.

You got a true steal of a deal on a fine French horn, mainly because most are unaware of how nice they are.

Cheers and congratulations!

My New Dolnet Sax arrived today.

It is excellent condition as described in the ebay listing.

First impressions:
*Quite light,

*the bell seems reasonably large (that could just be me as im used to playing a curved soprano)

*It has Very light action for such an old thing. Its lighter than my old Yas-275

I will wrote more once i get to play it (i have to wait for my new mouthpiece to arrive from america)

Well done on collecting yourself a suitable bit of gear. It looks like you even made some money on it that you put towards a nice mouthpiece! very good idea!

I'd be interested in this review, never came across a Dolnet before.

Well done Jambo, sounds like you've got a goodun there. I'll be interested in your thoughts once you've had a blow on it.

I find when I go back to the alto after playing curved sop for a while the sound is huge and full and lovely, even if my playing is a bit cack 😉

Cheers, Bob

The Springer mouthpiece arrived today.

It looks good, but sadly and annoyingly, the ligauture that came with it is way to small. There just isnt enough room for the reed.

Anyway, I set it up as best as I could, and it sounded awful, I just hope this is because of the lig, and not that the sax has stuff wrong with it.
