strong beat and down beat.... bebop articulation

looking at the "4. bebop"

would you think the "down beat" or "strong beat" to keep in place?

(for me, strong beat = accented beat........ is that fine?)

This can really help, but I suggest 1 & 3 on very fast tempos .

Yeah, abou twhen it gets too fast to tongue. Rhythmic concept is a little different at high speed.

Yes, at that speed any possibility of accenting the "ands" also goes out the window.

Also any idea of "swinging" or "bouncing" the quavers goes out the window too.

To make sure I get it right................

so, what you meant is to think as a 2/2 timing, that is only 2 "down beat" in the 4/4 bar.
and playing the quavers as if they are 16th?

Also, in this type of speed, just play "straight's".

Yes, except that if you are thinking of the quavers as semiquavers, it would be more like 2/4 than 2/2.

I'm talking about Giant Steps type tempos here.
