BOTM Oct. 2014 When Sunny Gets Blue

Anyhow, here is my super quick and dirty take, recorded with the baddest preparation ever:

Hope to find a decent place to record soon and be able to post a better prepared version in the near future.

Still no new place for me to make recordings, but I did want to do a better version then above of this month BOTM and decided to record this afternoon in one of our bedrooms. Did play very quitely, which is not a very natural behaviour for me, but managed to get a bit better take out (but still not one of my best recordings ever!):

Nice! I really liked the ending. Nice and jazzy. If this is a quick and dirty take, what do you sound like when you really practice????

It was a mistake in my mind because the pause changes the whole feel of those two phrases. The way the music as written sounds more musically appealing to me, so to me, I messed up. I don't remember why I did it. Maybe I was running out of air and had to do a "take a breath" pause. lol

Well I thought it sounded great and very professional,mistakes or not (by your standards) and loved the little ripples you put into it here and there,I'm always amazed how good some of you guys are.......and a great pick of a tune for the month.........John

I guess it would sound better with more practice, but I wouldn't know because I never could really put a lot of time in practising (too many other interests and obligations in life). But I play for more then 25 years regularly (last 10 years once a week at Big Band rehearsal), so that gives me at least a steady basis.

Right guys it's that time yet again. Just want to say a big thanks to Jimmy for hosting this month and for picking a great tune as well. Also to everyone who has posted as with out you guys there would be no thread.

Next month is special as it is the 3rd Anniversary of the 'Ballad of the Month'. There is a Guest host for next months BotM, the tune has been selected and everything is in place. So let's make November a very special month🙂
