Am struggling through Benade at the moment. Lots of good stuff there as well, but rather hard to read. This is much easier to read, comes to the point quickly... And it's written so that you don't need to do the maths if you don't want to.

Must send it to my MIL, she's a key presser and is good at maths.

My old teacher would love this. He's an ex-civil engineer/surveyor and forever making mathematical investigations into his music - into anything, in fact. He once lent me a book about the pyramids and how they were built. The margins were filled with his pencilled workings of the theories presented, simply because he wouldn't believe them until he'd worked them out for himself.
