Mouthpieces Jody jazz DV Chicago tenor.

I played it for years. Nicely crafted, high quality piece. Super thin rails. Very free blowing. Nice complex sound at lower volumes. Rather bright, modern, kind of smooth style edge when pushed.
Although I liked it I eventually replaced it because I wanted more resistance and core to the sound. I always felt I was going from 0 to 100 by just tapping it but then I couldn’t get more than 100 if needed (I’m lacking an English term for this, hope you can understand).
But there are players who sound really great on it, so you should probably just give it a try!

My impression is that it's expensive. In fact, so expensive that I can't give you a playing impression.

Life would be so much better if I could afford one.

I'd sit out on my veranda overlooking the vineyards around the Seine and fondle my DV Chi while my servants fanned me and fed me grapes.

I had one for a while. It's like a standard DV with the edge taken off, very nice. It can be loud, but harder reeds make it easier to control. The silver plating was prone to tarnishing. The latest ones are palladium plated so shouldn't have this problem.

Similar threads... or are they? Maybe not but they could be worth reading anyway 😀
