According to the BBC copper prices are down, obviously one of the key ingredients in brass. US to 'hang tough' over tariffs as Land Rover pauses shipments to country
Signalling a slow down in construction.. but a reduction in the cost of musical instruments by, what, 2%?copper prices are down
I hope not to burst your bubble, but as of late I'm not given to "ism" because they lead to schism. 😉It's always with remembering that the Europeans, including UK, have a long history in economics in general including, not least of all, Mercantilism...
You have the Café. 😉What happens when you put 10 economists in a room? You'll get 11 opinions. 🥴
Hard to say. The latest days the price copper is pretty stabile. 1 lbs is 4,45 USD. We have to pay 97,40 SEK for 1000 g!. Back in january the copper price was low. The brass prisce is allways lower than copper.According to the BBC copper prices are down, obviously one of the key ingredients in brass.

President tells US to 'hang tough' over tariffs as Land Rover pauses shipments to country
Donald Trump imposed a 25% tariff on foreign-made cars as part of his economic plan to "supercharge" the US economy.www.bbc.co.uk

That's what they thought in Albania back in the early 70's as well. I visited a canning industry (tomato). Big plant wih old slamming machines (from the Stalin era) with constant outages, less, almost zero, occupational safety ...... . When I asked them what they were going to do to increase the produktion they answered: We are going to hang up more slogans on walls. Today we see lots of "poster politics" around the world.Protectionism helps maintain a manufacturing base inside a country
Not my bubble. Many hundreds of years of experience that,I hope not to burst your bubble
The almost forgotten English armada qualifies as an example. It was repeated with the more recent expats invasion. Not my bubble. Many hundreds of years of experience that, ifwhen forgotten, will beare repeated.
Sure. Fair enough. History is constructed, after all.The almost forgotten English armada qualifies as an example. It was repeated with the more recent expats invasion.
I had one for a while in my late teens... I think it was a 1300. No power steering of course or any other driver assistance. It was very heavy steering and hard work. I only had it a few months. I think the next car was a mini (might have been an Escort - don't remember the order now). If you want a really heavy car for steering, the Austin Maxi was probably even heavier on the steeringOf the same era... reminds me of Jeremy Clarkson's visit to New Zealand in the late 1990's, when he was appalled at the number of Morris Marinas still on the roads
"The sort of car a Vietnamese farmer wouldn't get off his oxcart to drive"
But when it comes to economics, it's still a thousand times better to consult an economist than a politician. How will tariffs affect Sax prices?

The 'winners' write the history.Sure. Fair enough. History is constructed, after all.
Given the cost of the brass in an alto may be less than $10 I doubt if any tariffs on the raw material will have any significant effect.According to the BBC copper prices are down, obviously one of the key ingredients in brass.

On the other side the best finance minister in Sweden were/are well educated national economists. To know how the politic and laws works is also important. But when it comes to economics, it's still a thousand times better to consult an economist than a politician.
Confusius was against that idea, but his followers not that much.Sure. Fair enough. History is constructed, after all.
Mazda is now wholly Japanese owned. Kia/Hyundai are Korean owned and were never part of GM. You’re probably thinking Daewoo which is defunct now. Stellantis owns Chrysler and Fiat, the holding company is actually an Italian/French venture viz: Fiat and PSA(Peugeot/Citroen).Besides, the automakers are all "in bed" with each other. Lower end of Ford are generally Mazda, Chevrolet - Kia or Hyundai (both same manufacturer), Chrysler/Dodge - Fiat.
My son's Ford Probe even had a label on the driver doorsil, "Made by Mazda". I was referring to stencil marketing.Mazda is now wholly Japanese owned. Kia/Hyundai are Korean owned and were never part of GM.
I think we need a return to our saxophone sprinkling (practise).Add to the mix opportunistic politicians with a sprinkling of xenophobia and you will find the soup we’re in at the moment.
