Saxophones How much are these saxophones worth?

My grand father recently passed away and he left me these beautiful saxophones. I’m looking for any information on them. Although I have no intentions on selling them I would like to know how much they are worth. Thanks in advance and I appricate any and all help. Thank you

Not enough information to give a solid appraisal. More photos would be required, including pictures of the neck. Condition matters, and while these look well cared for, more photos of all parts of the instrument would help narrow things down.

That said, these are top line instruments, and worth several thousand dollars each. The alto would go from a low of around $3000 to as high as $8000. The tenor probably $500-$1000 more. The top end for tenors may be higher. A lot depends on condition.

Pete just marked my answer as a solution. Sorry I missed the added photos, there was a lot going on in my life at that time. Those instruments would be at the top end of my estimates. I didn’t know there was a soprano too.

All 3 horns together, minimum value would be $20,000. Even if the pads are shot, and all 3 needed complete re-padding. If you are going to keep them, you should insure them for $30,000.

I sincerely hope these beautiful instruments are going to be played. They deserve it, and the world needs more music.

Really well preserved beautiful saxes. The alto seems like a Mk6, the tenor a SA80II, the sop?? Another SA80II? looking at the black plastic thumb rests, All 3 are Selmers, Paris.
My guess for the tenor is GBP 2500, the alto 5000 to 6000 and the sop ?? Maybe 2500. 10k market prices, 20k to replace. If you don’t play, they’re a very good reason to start learning. All 3 top notch gear.

The soprano is a Mark VI, look at the palm keys. I think you are right about the tenor, I had assumed it was a VI too, but didn’t look carefully.

Seems like the sax detectives have got to the info on these, for me to be 100% it would help to have photos of the alto sax neck, particularly the front of it. And the engraving on the soprano and the tenor. The tenor should say SuperAction 80 Serie II on the side of the bell engraving if it actually is an SAII, I am not sold on it being one.

What about the dates written on the Alto Sax and Tenor Sax papers? 1956 and 1960 would make those two Mark VIs and real nice ones at that.
