Hello,

I have just received a new case to protect by beloved saxophone, but not just any old case, no this is a Grrr Case!

My sax teacher has been busy developing a new range of cases for saxophones and other instruments, as well as protecting your precious sax they also stand out from the crowd with their brilliant and unique designs that in my opinion make them look just great. As soon as I saw them I knew I had to have one and so now my sax is safely nestled inside it?s new case, a symphony in black. My mate is hoping there will be guitar cases at some point, he would love one for his 12 string Rickenbacker!

So if you are in the market for a new case please check out: www.grrrcases.co.uk

All the best,

Chris

Hey I saw one of those cases in my local shop. They're fab. Strong and supportive yet great design too, shows it was made by a saxophonist I guess! one will definitely be on my Christmas list!

beauty must be in the eye of the beholder after all, because i think they look crap..I don't know how strong they are, as i've never seen one..I have had my hiscox case for 15 years and thats beat up and still looks cooler and prettier than these.. reminds me of them dog coats and bling you see people with..
but whatever tickles your fancy i guess..

How much are they? There is no mention of them on any of their listed stockists.

Hi Col,

I needed to send my teacher an e-mail anyway and so I?ve also enquired about the cases, they?ve only been trading a few weeks and the stockists are being a little slow in updating their websites, probably due to the fact that they are busy in the run up to xmas.

If you email through the site http://www.grrrcases.co.uk/ she will be able to send you the prices and help you out with any other enquiries I?m sure.

I hope this helps,

Chris.

At the prices shown on this thread they are going head-to-head with Hiscox cases.

Whether the patterns flick your switch is a matter for the individual (I quite like some of them!) but I do wonder how they compare in the level of protection they offer...

maybe its because of my musical background - but i reckon itd be much cooler to get a case and customise it yourself.

and ive seen some great BAM cases that are in the same league as the big 2

I bought a Hiscox case for my Martin Alto as I didn't want it getting bashed around in the old tat it was in, especially after I got it serviced.

It's a fantastic case, especially with the foam cushion things inside it and accommodates the split bell keys fantastically. If I had the money I'd buy one for my tenor.

I too don't like the look of these Grrr cases, I'm a relatively neat and tidy person and like my cases to reflect that

On the general case discussion- I'm a ProTec man myself. Excellent for extra storage- the only case I've found which will hold an Aureum stand in it's side pocket, plus reeds, cleaning kit etc etc- basically everything I need in one bag. Plus they're very protective- possibly not quite at much as a Hiscox but certainly adequate for 'in theback of the band van' transportation....

Similar threads... or are they? Maybe not but they could be worth reading anyway 😀
