Saxophones Carrying a tenor on a (motor)bike?

An old thread...but happy to report back that I do now own the zx6r that I was banging on about wanting back in 2016!

Excellent, looks good. Looking back to the original point of this post, I'm not sure the ZX6R would be all that suitable for carrying a tenor......
There are some points for bungee straps, but the back seat isnt exactly generous...I've done clarinet and alto gigs on it, but not tenor. Usually on my tenor gigs I'm carrying a box with mic/cables/in ears plus a bag of merch, so need the car anyway.

Have a tow bar fitted or a side car.
I'm joking. Who wants a sidecar on a moped. 😉
A mate of mine builds / fits sidecars. In the modern world of small, efficient, affordable cars; what's the advantage of a bike? Hooning and Filtering in traffic, so, yeah, make them wider and dodgy on corners.

Older non conformist characters with deteriorating balance and a need for fresh air with a bulky partner and a canine rebel or two.
Some bike rallies are strictly no cars.
A Gold wing combination towing a caravan is a sight to behold.
I have no plans for a Gold wing 18 wheeler ever. The Chihuahua makes a better live hood ornament. My bulky partner weighs the same as when we married. I can still carry her😉

I'm pedal power, and lucked out when given a used backpack by the manager of the Spokane REI [ Recreational Equipment, Inc. ] that was a well worn example of one of their middle size knapsack, featuring a leather bottom with a strong ballistics cloth body which loaded from the top via a single opening covered by a flap. I also had a light vinyl gig bag for my all time favorite tenor a $225 Berkeley Flea Market want ads newspaper; which road inside the used REI knapsack as if made for that.

That post could've been proofread better; though basically about having a nice means of carrying a tenor sax in a backpack while bicycling. Once even visiting the Church of John Coltrane in San Francisco..they were closed, though several Hammond B3 organs were pushed against the walls or windows around the periphery inside.

I liked carrying that tenor in that backpack. I never tried playing publicly though, perhaps since usually playing while high? I think I'd of enjoyed busking more than I thought I would. Then, I was into Albert Ayler's "Ghosts" though Balkanized since, by folk such as clarinetist Ivo Papasov or alto saxophonist Yuri Yunakov whose 2005 Voice of Roma workshop I played in. www.voiceofroma.com

I still use pedal power when it's doable. MTB or Cargobike! 10-15 km is not a problem. Today I use the cargobike more because I use Hiscox (not easy to have on my back) for my tenor and the origianal Martin case for my bari. I used the cargobike when I was busking as well. If you want a change, you have to work for it.
