Misc recording AI composed 1940s swing track on baritone

Aaaaah, enough with the party tricks already. For this we're destroying the environment, burning up non- renewable resources at an every-accelerating pace, subjecting rural districts to the 24/7 noise from superserver farms?

I agree with all of that, and am not using AI frivolously. I detest the damage humans are doing to the environment. I have made my living for 25 years as a composer of music, often with the kind of brief I have given in that AI prompt. Luckily I am at an age where I can retire, and have decided to do that sooner or later. (Probaly sooner). It has been a very good living and I now live mostly off royalties that give my pension a boost. It is due to this that I can afford to run the Cafe as a non-profit and without having obtrusive ads slapping you round the face.

The reason for that rant is that I do need to know about the AI competition in case I resume that career, hence this is really research that is necessary as part of a decision making process. My friend who has made a good living as a translator is now out of work. Totally.

Although the above was posted as a laugh, I am not intending to use AI directly for anything beyond this, which I consider a very important experiment for myself to make decisions about my profession.

Well Pete, I hate to say it but I think much of your profession is stuffed.

My prediction as to music is that the Gammas, Deltas, and Epsilons will get mass produced sound pablum, generated by AI; the Betas will get mass produced sound pablum generated by AI that had an Alpha look it over before deployment; and the Alphas will go out into the woods and have bluegrass jams, jazz jams, and play string quartets.

Sorry to be negative, but people have always created music, and the period where a meaningful number of people could actually earn a living is a very short fraction of the time humans have existed - maybe the years 1875-1990. So it's going to go back to the past in a way.
