Dug out my old Jody Jazz piece probably not appropriate for a ballad but enjoyed messing around despite struggling with a squeaky reed, the only one I had left that suits this particular MP.

You can't beat a squeaky reed Alun. So long as you had fun that's all that matters.

In an attempt to fight off some mouthpiece GAS I got to playing around with some
new reeds. Big difference in sound😱 Just one chorus, comments welcome..

Hi Chris thanks for the comment.

Like you I have tried resurrecting a few old MPs trying different reeds, ligs etc. To ward off GAS. Would be interested to know the make seems you have a big fat rich sound with those.

I think I have managed to ward off the GAS for now.

Cheers Sue and Alun, all will be revealed shortly. A box of reeds is cheaper than a new mouthpiece
so I'm glad that I tried changing brands.

practice plus good reed = beautiful sound

little practice and any reed = Duck call

Heres my 1st attempt of this number. I really wanted a sparse Blues feel. The Bird / Lady day versions are pretty much definitive for me which is a bit of a downer on the song I suppose.

@ Chris . Your little embellishments are really adding to the completeness of your work so all heading the right way . good to see your tone is holding up
@ Moose. As the others are saying you really are doing well. My only advice is that you might want to start thinking about what direction you want to go regarding playing in ensembles/band or whether like me you intend to remain a home player ( For The Moment anyway)

As far as I'm concerned you always sound so professional another great post you should definitely stop being a home alone player loved it .....John

It was the other way round for me I couldn't get the drop box to play but the soundcloud worked fine, lovely stuff Colin for some reason parts of the singing sounded very nasal as if your a bit bunged up, not meant to be a criticism I'm sure you can tell it yourself,your playing as always fab .....John
