yes Colin, i posted a dropbox link, (see 1st page, post number 13) everything is there, pdf's for tenor and alto and backing tracks, 2 versions of the tune

"Fantastic Version"? ... It is awe inspiring ... a truly brilliant muso and a decent human being ... not that I know him it is just what he did..... with humility....

to me EVERYTHING that Michael produced was awe inspiring, hence why i chose this as BOTM 🙂

Also look at this version, i think the backing track is a mix between this style and Ben websters version
i particularly LOVE double tempo feel in a ballad

As a break from the " Course" I thought I'd have a play with this months tune. This is an extended version with a full 32 bar second chorus then tag ending, just incase anyone wants to try this backing track..It really is a great tune that Ian has picked this month..

hey , nice and laid back there, nice 1, sweet soft tone, this sounds very controlled and dynamically consistent within keeping of the ballad, spot on Chris

Hi Ian, I do try and listen to ideas that some people give me, as for "straight into a piece you titled
all for youse..." I don't have a piece by that name..

ah i see now, "All for youse" is by someone called strobell and in your related links on soundcloud and it plays just after your BOTM ends

The Redman Vanguard version is the one I know best but I have a splendid Rollins version on The Standard Rollins album too.
Listening to Rollins now I think I can hear a little of where Redman was coming from actually 😉

Thanks for the lovely choice this month Ian. I`ve had to fix my Horn as it fell off the stand but seems OK and I should be able to post this month. Chris . I sound like a stuck record but your tone is just getting better as are your Impro`s. You must feel that you are on the verge of making a breakthrough in level as I can distinctly hear more maturity every time you post a tune.

RE. JR. I`m with Colin. The more I hear the more I like. I`ve always prefered the more vintage tenor sounds as opposed to, but not including Trane onwards, and I love his version.

Clive, I've heard of making a tune your own but my god, you certainly made me sit up :shocked: I wondered who the sax player was. I think you set your bar kind of high with this one. Great easy listen with a good vibe all the way through.. Thanks for the comments you made before..

Had a full on week gigging so just sat down today and had a chance to have quick blow through 1 of the 2 tracks for this months choice.May do the other version in the different key in a week or so.Enjoy.
