What project are you working/thinking about working on

Excellent. I'm so fortunate to be able to still be a dilletante. If / when I ever get back to playing saxophone for tips or euros. I doubt I will have the urges to even bother with projects. but time will tell . I never regretted my 9 hours a week playing on the beach but I do know I was tired at the end of a 2 to 3 hour session and I am getting older.boo.

Nutters Corner (me and Les the drummer) have our first gig in about 3 weeks. This is the sort of thing we'll be doing. Recorded last week in my living room by a Tascam DR-05.

very atmospheric. especially the 2nd one. What about these trees? very special. am listening to noises off as well . sitting in library. I wonder if my headphones are leaking out and disturbing the tranquility. tee hee

Still not able to do much playing or singing due to coronavirus refusal to totally leave. Have a few numbers underway all getting to the vox and horn stage so will hopefully get them done when I am fit enough.

Meanwhile I did a little electronic "warscape" influenced by the ugliness the planet is dealing with.
. It's noise. but I did play the whistles and flute live improvisation and the 12 string "Dylan" motif again just off the top of head .The manic evil laugh was done with the VSTI Serum. it's the best synth out there.
I used another 3 synths to create the chopper and trains and ambient bed.
Oh it's short. And the title really is a question.

Having released my folk jazz, ECM-ish body of work into the wild I’m wanting to dive into something completely different next. As I find myself interested in texture and mood as a starting point- I’m going to be dipping my toe into both some gothic, hammer/Tim Burton sound track kind of stuff based round my saw and bass clarinet (John Surman horror movie music?) and also an attempt at a bit of jazz/punk- CBGBs style- starting with alto and guitar (the fact my guitar style is quite untidy and chaotic works very well for this kind of thing).

Its early days and things will probably mutate beyond recognition but here goes

The Darker the themes the better these days it would seem, or perhaps a complete contrast is what's about the go off "Summer of Love 3"?
Good luck anyway. Oh. Incidently. I posted a link to your recent one on the Progressive Ears forum.

Think you might have hit on something concerning themes and mood, though I've always found cheerful music disturbing!
Many thanks for the share on Progressive Ears forum (I'd not come across that one before- just had a search round it, looks like a good community there)

Contemplating the move to Windows 11 64 bit after a lifetime of 8 ,16 and 32 bit OS`s. This is scary stuff and I worry nothing will work anymore .EEEK .My cubase SX is 19 years old. So temped by 17" laptop with 16 GBof memory 1tB SSD and fast cpu. loads of good 2nd hand laptops around really good value/cheap.

Meanwhile I did a cover of that song you hear in Tesco and other Supermarkets.

Heres my electro version 1st mixdown. 3rd take actually so not too proud but fun to do.

You listen to the 'music' in supermarkets?
I would either blank it out or in extreme cases tell them to turn it down or preferably off.
One benefit of pandemic is getting deliveries instead of going.

So I have now got myself another old laptop,an about 10 year old HP 17"
workstation running a very lovely looking Windoze 11

that originally retailed at over 6000 dollars tee hee it's ridiculously powerful for my needs but it was a real bargain from the fleabay for 320 quid. I will have a bit of a job migrating over to 64 bit but at least I am basically all SSD now all 1.5 TB, 16 gigs of RAM lol.I also have an extra SATA bay , or 2 ,LOL ,so I can physically just take the old laptop drive and pop it in and boot to the 32 bit windoze10, we will see .
Just
did a first mixdown of this 15 minutes ago. Perhaps my last 32 bit effort.

Progressively migrating stuff to the new computer and not yet decided on choice of new 64 bit DAW and VST`s and VSTI`s, tempted by Reaper or perhaps Sonar as it`s free by Bandlab , Cubase Sx 32 bit still works but now even more crashy. I have to say kudos to the guys that developed and released it back in 2002 or whenever. It runs on windoze 11, You just need to save often . Also I need to get an interface I had an M Audio audiophile then gave up studio so have been using ASIO4All for last few years.
should really finish Banana but too busy for lyric writing

Speaking of progressive heres a prog blues I did this week.

A touch of Van Der Graaf Generator there sir! Was waiting for Peter Hammill to come in...
Thanks. That's definitely a compliment .

I doubt anyone has had a chance to test out these ultra cheap audio interfaces getting punted by AliExpress but sales and reviews appear favourable. I could be tempted.

By this one.

or maybe even it's big brother.

We will decide soon

Same thing on Amazon -same price. Free returns:

That could be a lot safer but I wonder if they also have the 2nd one I linked to.
Free return is attractive.
Thanks for the heads-up.
