I sold my MKVI tenor many years ago to a student who then called it Wiiliam.

I call my tenor sax, Henry after my 5 year old nephew, my alto sax, Frankie after my 3 year old nephew, and my soprano, Trixie (full name Abigail Beatrix Rose - where does my sister get these names from?) after my 5 month old niece. On the older children's birthday I phone them up, as they live in the South Island of New Zealand, and play "Happy Birthday To You". They probably think 'not another crazy relative making funny sounds over the telephone!' :laugh:

Hi Hannah, I didn't name my alto but my son who's about your age started to call it "the Jazzer" and the name has stuck.

My alto doesn't have a name as such, unless it's 'gorgeous'. Every time I open the case and see him/her/it laying there waiting to be played I think to myself 'awww, you're gorgeous'.

Call my Mk Vl 'Pension' but it never gets played. 😉

Well, you'll have to pardon my french, but since the tenor is the biggest horn I own, it gets nicknamed 'the big b__ger'. Good job I don't play bari.

The others don't have names other than 'me regular one' and 'me new 'un'.

I actually never realized I could name my sax. It just never crossed my mind. If I did though it be something like 'that ole hunk of junk...' I hate it. I am in the process of getting a new one.
