views of saxes

The first sax I bought was an Earlham pro alto, which did the job for a number of years. I didn't know any better at the time and so stuck to what I was playing. Unfortunately, after a number of years, it started to come unstuck (keys sticking, action wearing down, springs getting SUPER sluggish). However as it happened over a gradual period, I didn't notice until I swapped horns with a friend and was shocked by how much easier theirs was to play.

In the end, it would have cost more to put everything right than the saxophone was worth.

Mine was a selmer series 2 clone.

As griff says, I think there are others which may be better. Trevor James for one, as I owned a "Classic" tenor which is a good horn and served me well

I had an Earlham pro alto and it was "ok"

That's about all I can say. *shrug* nothing special. There are better, there are much worse. Think "Nissan Micra"
