My roses don’t like the heat. Lots of food and water but they still don’t grow well. Water less time but more frequent? The pink are doing better than red ones.

I thought roses were indigenous to Turkey. It’s hot there. Not your soil? (Auto correct wanted “not your soul?” 🤨🤭)

I've still got the (albeit much trimmed) surviving remains of a white rose that my old mum bought from Woolworths in 1968.
We took some cuttings off it in case the old original pegged out, the cuttings are OK too and produced the same type of white rose as the original.
That said the original seems quite happy now after removing a load of dead bits inc some old rotten roots.

Wild turkeys are indigenous to US but suffer for our fowl mouthed November holiday.

Some of my wife's roses in the front yard. We are higher elevation (4,300 feet, 1311 m), but we get a few weeks of 100°F (38°C) temps in the high desert.

I saw this old lady in the dairy section of the supermarket, opening the door and talking into the fridge. She was looking for something and there was a clerk inside the cold room who she was talking to.

I walked up to her and politely told her: "Ma'am are you talking to the fridge again?" And then: "Oh wait, and the fridge is actually talking back at you!"

She looked at me, shook her head for a split second and then burst out laughing so hard that she almost dropped some groceries she carried.

You never know what you may encounter in the dairy section ...

I remember when cellphones first came out. Many people driving around talking to themselves.

Years ago I used to see an old man walking in the park always talking to himself.
After phones became common so most people on their own were alway 'talking to themsevelves' I saw him one day sitting on a bench with his hand up to his ear chatting away.
Got closer, he was holding a pine cone.

There was a woman on our local bus chatting away to herself and she was being stared at by another woman. She looked back at her and said “what’s wrong with you? I’m just talking to me ‘ead”

We used to do all kinds of things before cell phones came out. One of my favorite pranks was to have a phone receiver and an alarm clock in my briefcase and set off the alarm on the commuter train. Then open the briefcase, pull out the receiver and answer, finishing up with "Let me check!"
And then pick somebody in the crowd and tell him/her: I think that call's for you.

It always worked.

I talk to myself all the time. I'm usually not very nice to me, though. Sometimes I wish I'd just shut up and leave me alone.
