Teeth Pads for Otto Link Mouthpiece

I have a Otto Link mouthpiece and I wondered whether there's any advantage to using teeth protection pads?

I just thought if I ever wanted to sell the mouthpiece on and change to another then perhaps I should be using them.

Any thoughts?

bite marks do put people off buying second hand pieces, unless theyre rare/vintage (and often even then)

other than that consideration, its all about personal feel, sadly. i recently stopped using one on mine - and briefly had trouble forming a tight embouchure seal around the different profile - but im feeling much more connected to the sound without it

I have a Vintage Brilhart piece that I use 'pads' on for many of your reasons. However, I like using them simply for the 'feel'. They do provide protection, but some people have problems with sound when using them. It's a very personal issue. If you have a 'firm' bite and use an expensive, vulnerable piece then use them if you can work with the feel. I have got used to the 'grip' they provide as well.

Similar threads... or are they? Maybe not but they could be worth reading anyway 😀
