Hi everyone, I would like to play with other sax players in the Northants area and thought of starting up a group. I am preparing for my grade 3 and would like to practice with other players of that level. I have a lot of quartet music we could use but still need to find somewhere to practice. If anyone out there would like to get together to form a group or just practice then please contact me. :w00t:
Look forward to hearing from you all >:)

ch'boogie and myself might be up for that depending on times days and places etc.... we must be about where you are in terms of skill level. So let us know. I have a friend in northampton who maybe up for it as well so that could be 4 all ready >.< lol

see ya

I'd like to join too, I have been looking to get together with fellow saxy people after a long layoff to bring up children, could be a little rusty, but have lots of "live" experiences behind me and have alto, tenor and baritone saxamaphones.

Let me know where you are and when you'd plan to meet up, Dooce and Taz might also be interested.

I live in Chaventry for my sins in a previous life,.......Atilla the Hun!

So "4 Go Wild in Northants" is a new ensemble, unless anybody can come up with a better one?! ("4 Blister after Lunch"?).

You wait until the South Wales mob gets going - "Free the Walstein 3!", or the "Shazmeisters of LarsenBerg".

Sounds a great idea. I remain just too wary of going to the monthly beginners night at Swansea Jazzland, backing by the Dave Cottle Trio - I was going to do 'All Blues' on muted Trumpet or MrPC on Alto, but care too much about other people.

Good luck with anything you set up.
Kind regards

Oh Gawd, we're not gonna start that traipsing all over the countryside, horn in hand (if ya know what I mean 😉 !) thing again, are we?

Hello there - yes please!

I am also preparing for my grade three.

I see that you live in Corby - I live just down the road in Sudborough. Our village have just refurbished the village hall - new toilets, diabled access etc, and it is still very reasonable to hire.

I was thinking about setting this group up myself, so well done for starting the thread. I used to meet with another guy and my music teacher one saturday morning a month, which worked out well.

please let me know your thoughts - do email me PM and maybe I can call you?

best wishes

Helen

Its good that Northants is even further away from me than Sharon!

And you thought that it was the eerie sound of pirates dying a violent death at sea on a ferocious, stormy night, or so I was initially led to believe by the locals in this part of Swansea.

Yes, when shall we set up the Breakfast Room Big Band - or "Pete's Treats' as they are rumoured to be called.
