Sax quartets are the greatest fun you can have, in my opinion. It looks as if you will have enough players to start a sax choir as well. If you can get this going, you guys are going to have a ball.

I play in both and we have an MD for the choir. The MD plays with the group and the musical direction happens at the rehearsals.

wish I could scare up enough players for one here in Vermont....hmmm maybe I'll have to check out Montreal...

Thank you to everyone who has contacted me to join the group I have had a good response. We are all meeting at Samuel Lloyd ( new Wetherspoons) in Corby on Saturday 15th November 08 at 1pm to get to know each other and talk about what we want out of the group and what we would all like to play. I'm joining in late, but good luck and have fun

I played in a sax ensemble called Stax of Sax based on a workshop in Holborn run by a great bloke called Mike, best fun I've ever had with a sax.

About 20 of us, mostly beginners, but it was a great sound and made Mondays something to look forward too.

I'm very envious... :cry:
