Saxophone Group

Sax quartets are the greatest fun you can have, in my opinion. It looks as if you will have enough players to start a sax choir as well. If you can get this going, you guys are going to have a ball.

I play in both and we have an MD for the choir. The MD plays with the group and the musical direction happens at the rehearsals.

Good luck with it.

Miss Kitten - I agree with Justin - sax quartets are great! So wonderful - keep us posted on the group

wish I could scare up enough players for one here in Vermont....hmmm maybe I'll have to check out Montreal...

I do have guest quarters that sleeps 6 - road trip?

The latest issue of Saxophone Journal magazine has a masterclass and play along CD by Skip Spratt featuring, wait for it... Rock & Roll Saxophone Quartet...and it's really good.

Thank you to everyone who has contacted me to join the group I have had a good response. We are all meeting at Samuel Lloyd ( new Wetherspoons) in Corby on Saturday 15th November 08 at 1pm to get to know each other and talk about what we want out of the group and what we would all like to play. If anyone else out there would also like to come you are more than welcome and I look forward to meeting you all

Hi Ian

We would love you to join us and for not being able to play well I am sure you are lying lol, but we are all at different levels and what better way to gain experience than to join a group like this. So please come on Saturday 15th November 1pm at the new Wetherspoons, let me know if you can come, we are all just getting to know one another and talk about what we can do and would like to play, hope to hear from you soon
Sharon 🙂

Hi again Sharon, Jane and I will try to get there on Saturday. We have a bit of reshuffling to do but will hopefully make it.

See you then. (hopefully)

I'm joining in late, but good luck and have fun :w00t:

I played in a sax ensemble called Stax of Sax based on a workshop in Holborn run by a great bloke called Mike, best fun I've ever had with a sax.

About 20 of us, mostly beginners, but it was a great sound and made Mondays something to look forward too.

I'm very envious...
