Having read a few profiles it seems to me that saxophones and motorbikes sit together very well.

I don't have one any more, but after a brief foray with a scooter (Lambretta) I got a Francis Barnett followed by a Norton ES2 (500 single)

Never been into motorbikes myself. So your theory is out the window! 😉

Though rumour has it (at least the one I started!) that Yamaha saxophones are made up of the leftover bits of exhaust pipes from Yamaha motorcycles... 😀

My avatar's a CB650 engine, and that's what I'm currently rebuilding, a 1979 unloved one. 'Tis all coming together now, alothough it's been a bit slow the last few weeks as I'm very busy (work) right now.

Never, ever admit to a motorcyclist that you owned a road going Fanny B. Works trial or scrambler is just about admissible.

Mines a BMW R850GS. Just ridden it into work, bit of a chilly morn, but a lovely ride.

I also have a Honda CB500, plus enough bits to make another one, and an old Suzi GS500.

Saxplayer67, I can absolutely confirm that the metal used in Yamaha saxes is of a vastly superior quality to that used in their exhaust pipes. Who ever heard of a sax rusting to bits in a few months? 😉

well, they could have made all those fiddly little sax screws using the same soft metal as they stick in the crank-cases. Then the sax techs would have some fun... rounded-off heads, chewed up slots 🙁

Well i race a Bimota KB1 (z1000 engine), on the road i have a GSXR750 and a Bimota SB6, i ride all the time weather permitting, but its a tad chilly right now.

Good to see a lot of like minded people.

Hi Phil

Sure i will let you know, the dates are to be confirmed but 1st race will be a Pembrey in sunny wales im March, then Lydden Kent in April/ May then Brands in June. I crashed a Lyden this year and could not race since but hopefully my confidence is not to dented.

And NO Bimotas don`t come with heated grips, shame though.

I really like easy-2s - when I were a trainee rocker type they were still cheap as anything. They're classics now though - you should've kept it Pete!
