New Year and a new band!

Just landed a new band called
Johnny and the Zephyrs I played with them just before Christmas and got the phone call today, offering me the position of larey, lively sax player. I recon I can fit the bill, and I'm looking forward to working with a very professional bunch of showmen!

Have to say the high fidelity music nerd in me is a bit suspicious of any band that credits Mustang Sally at by the Commitments and (very nerby, this one) Marie Marie as Shaking Stevens (not The Blasters- a sort of Cool persons version of the Stray Cats)

:laugh: I was wondering if anyone would pick up on that. We don't play Mustang Sally, we.. well.. er we just sort of use it as an excuse to get as many gorgeous women on stage to do the backing vocals....sounds crap, but its a LOT of fun!

Too right Jules, or even a stand-up bass! I'd love to be in a band without one of those grunty electric ones (even though I played one for about 30 years). i tried playing a stand-up bass for a while, but I couldn't get it to.

A mate of mine plays slap double bass, and he did a turn with our band one night. Single-handedly he turned Stevie Ray Vaughan's "Pride & Joy" from guitar-god blues into pure rockabilly. Guitarist was well pissed off - the bass player got all his applause
