Tech/maintenance Need help with vintage horn

Why so much ? Did the purchase include a Selmer Soloist mouthpiece?

Seventeen pounds. Wish it had included a new bari sax mp.🙂
Donated it to local school band.

Yes you can. You can call a bacon sandwich a horn if you want to. No biggie. I got worse things to worry about

I like the old saw 'an ill (wood)wind which nobody blows good', personally 🙂

(I failed grade 3 on clarinet in about 1980; our relationship went downhill from there!)

Scatarophically speaking, a flute is very similar to a sax.

Sarcastically speaking, my initial reply here was half in jest....you being new, were unaware of the Jaye Caution.😉

Fwiw...in 50years of playing in bands...school, camp, civic, private amateur and pro, even band pit orchs...and 19 years of being a repair tech....

...never in my musical life has anyone...teacher...player...tech repair person, instrument seller, shop, teacher, tutor, conductor......referred to a clarinet or flute as....a 'horn'......is all.....

Out of idle curiosity, would they refer to the flute as "Axe"?
Maybe the closer you are to stage smashing rock shows, the more axe like your instrument?
