Classical Mnozil Brass are coming to Utah!

This Sunday some friends and I have tickets to hear the Mnozil Brass perform live at the University of Utah. This was definitely on my bucket list to see this group in person.

They're on my bucket list as well. Although I'm someone who has played in Florentiner Marsch far too many times I never tire of their version. It summarises brass players quite nicely!

We saw the group last evening in a beautiful new recital hall with amazing acoustics. What touched me was the sheer power and volume that seven players can produce on brass instruments with no amplification. Interestingly most of the performance was musical---not comical or theatrical, but there was enough of that thrown in to provide comic relief. Their command of styles is remarkable. Everything from classical to jazz and everything in between. If the group ever performs anywhere near you, this is something you need to experience in person.
