BOTM Here's That Rainy Day May 2017 BOTM

The @jimmylh posting troubles aside I've listenened on your soundcloud page and it's much better than your own description would suggest. :thumb: I'm sure the mods and rockers on here will sort it.
@Tiberius nice second post taking a few liberties with the timing leaving spaces all help with these ultra slow pieces. Perfect one take recording doesn't happen for me often either, but it's a nice feeling when it happens. You'd better hurry with that roof before the rain sets in.

Many years ago, I was showing the directors our 'new' mainframe, in an effort to make this lump of metal sexy, a display sat on top, displaying the status of the various registers (labelled 0-9, plus A-F), along with whether this register was on or off. Of course, every time they glanced, it chose to display F OFF

Hi @jimmylh I really like the sound of your sop. I can't seem to get anywhere near the sound I have in my head but this is close. What's the setup? The sax was just bit little too quiet in the mix but nevertheless I really enjoyed listening. The improv suited the mood of the song, the melody was nicely played with a vibrato that was not too overbearing. Well done. Hope to hear more from you, the month is yet young plenty of time for thunderstorms.

Thanks! Yeah, it was too quiet in the mix. Microphone placement is a real challenge which I'm struggling with.
My setup: Yamaha 475 with the 4c mouth piece that came with it. Edit: Reed is a 3.0 Legere signature.

Hi,

I took the opportunity to take one of my Alto pieces I have been planning to sell and play something (it has even lost it's place as 2nd piece in my alto case and must stay in the drawer) 🙂...
It's a Johannes Gerber Vintage II (I play a Johannes Gerber NY).
I also tried some of my Reverb's (Valhalla Room Verb) free presets..
So here it is, nothing special, nevertheless I hope you like it and don't mind the funny line at the beginning (to low Bb on Alto) and the funny chords at the end 🙂

Rainy Day

Cheers, Guenne

That was lovely and musical, as always. I really enjoyed it.

I think the reverb was really good, as was the whole recording.

Where was the backing track from ?
