Well, that was then...Alastair told me couple of days ago that the first consignment is en route and should be there by end-Jan....perhaps whoever you spoke to was allowing a bit of 'contingency' 😉

Thanks, The 8 seems to my ears to have a darker, warmer more vintage sound than the 5. Nice for legit playing which is what I do mostly along with concert band.

I find the left hand pinky keys slightly easier for me to reach than on my 5.
I was prepared to be not too keen on the vintage finish (even though I've long been an admirer of the similar finish on some Mauriats), which was all I could afford but actually, in the flesh, so to speak, I love it.
The engraving is nice too, subtle and not too in your face.

I got it the second week in January and I've treated it to a Hiscox case for when I go to band.
