My guitar player is a founding member of DoctorfunK - an amazing horn band.

The band as a whole - and especially the 'horn section' - sound really 'tight'. In relation to 'timing'. Something that I and my fellow trumpet player still need to work on. On our 'current numbers', we work well together. But on our newer numbers, still have more work to do to 'get in synch' with each other.

Those guys are amazing. The band has been together for 30 years now.
On this night there were two subs - me and the drummer.

In a cool twist of good fortune - the drummer and I played in a different band together 30 years ago.

He’s excellent. And that was basically a “we’ll email you the charts and have 1 rehearsal” gig.

A really fun night.
