theres an ad i saw a few times on tv recently for some form of furniture emporium with a sax behind it.

anyway, right near the end theres a shot in a bedroom with a bari sax on a stand in the corner that pans out of shot really quickly. its so shiny, and every time i think "oooh i wonder what that is". ive started staring at the appropriate portion of screen the whole duration of the ad in the hope of maximising my glance time. but its annoyingly elusive.

anyone got quicker eyes than me and have the faintest idea what im talking about?

I saw this the other day and thought what a wierd thing! How many ads have saxes in them? Answer zero. The fact that its a Bari sax on a stand in a bedroom strikes me as quite bizarre.

I couldn't tell what make it is but its sure strange who thought the scene would improve with a random sax in it!

I shall'nt advise recording vast swages of tv in order to slo-mo the scene, thats bordering on compulsive obsessive behaviour!

ive not seen it in a while - i think it may have related to a bank holiday sale - and to be honest, the actual brand is the least likely part of any ad for me to notice

still bothering me though

right

its this ad

ive been pausing it on about 9 seconds and trying to identify it by an out of focus low a mech (seems quite chunky, which would lean me towards yamaha, but that could just be the fuzziness)

H'yur it is:

...beats me.

But for goodness sake don't let it in any way influence you to actually purchase (the furniture not the sax).

I made that mistake once - eventually got a letter of apology from a director for the hassle I had.

i think the g4m is yellower

if youre a props manager, do you go out and buy something cheap, or persuade someone to lend you something for cheap?

i like the implication of this scene that this bed is for men who live alone in expensive studio flats and listen to old jazz records, alone

Similar threads... or are they? Maybe not but they could be worth reading anyway 😀
