@PenelopeTX, for the cleaning and conditioning I am just using some stuff I got from the local supermarket, it's called "Leather Conditioner" by Chemical Guys but I am sure anything else will work just fine. If I have really old pads that are not waterproofed, I sometimes use Mink Oil from Designer Shoe Warehouse but you need to make sure you polish off any residue, otherwise the pads may get sticky. It'll also darken the pads a bit, probably depending on the age of the pads. Alternatively you can use any of the shoe waterproofing stuff but the key is always to use things sparingly and do a good cleanup afterwards.
Especially with the snap-in pads, it may not be worth spending too much time and money but it's not possible to judge from the photographs and definitely worth a shot, in the least, you'll get a bit of feel how things work.
A quick word of warning regarding the snap-in resonators, they can be a bit fragile, so if you are trying to remove them, make sure you pull them up vertically, sometimes you can do it using your fingernails, sometimes you'll need two levers (I've been using dinner knives or a small screw driver coming in from opposite sides and gently lift until they release.
Let me know if there is anything else you need.
