Saxophones Buescher True Tone 1926 C melody sax possible to play without repad?

Reminds me of a mem of a woman in leather on her Harley-Davidson looking back over her shoulder, "If you rode a little faster, you could ride like a girl, too!"

(Adding just to clarify, when someone in the motorcycling community mentions leather, they mean protective motorcycle safety riding clothing: leather jacket, leather chaps or riding overpants (goes over your regular pants), leather gloves, leather boots covering the ankle, and etc. The ideal is that if one takes a fall, the gear protects one's skin from "road rash" by the road surfaces.)
Hmmm, sounds like you’re trying to mansplain your way out of your wife looking over your shoulder as you write about a leather-clad woman on a Harley. Yeah…. We know what you’re talkin’ ‘bout. 😎 I s’pose those tattoos are somehow protective as well.

When some in the motorcycle community, mention Harley, they wonder if it even started, and made it to the first stop sign, without leaking most of its oil. 🙀

South Florida Harley dress code,
Flip Flops, shorts, T shirt, no gloves, no helmet, no engine/leg guard and a 7-11 slurpy in one hand.

I actually saw this. Prior to Covid, was working one of the stops on a poker run sponsored by Sharps, a motorcycle dealer in Amarillo.
pulled up to choose a card and get their score card updated. Just as they (older couple) pulled up and he cut the engine, something on the engine popped and dumped a couple quarts of newly changed oil onto the tarmac.

Asked my PHD friend (Professional H-D mechanic). He told me that there was a check valve assembly needing servicing during oil change. If not done, some crud builds up causing check valve failure, which then blows out a removable plug.

Unfortunately it is sight seen in other places, too. Road rash and skin grafts aren't a pretty site. I cringe every time when I see a female as a passenger dressed in clothing unsuitable for riding, knowing what the outcome can be. 😳
@PenelopeTX , any luck with further progress on your dad's C Sax?
