That's it. I did include the YouTube performance earlier in this thread.

But now you have put the real thing right beside my pale imitation - oh dear.

Nat King Cole was a wonderful jazz pianist and then his excellent singing sort of took over. In my version I took out the middle chorus which was Nat's solo, but I let the BiaB pianist have the 8 bar solo on the second bridge.

@rhysonsax nonsense on the pale imitation part! I'm sorry I did not see the previous post of the video, and I have been following the BOTM pretty closely. Ah, I see it now, and it's funny, I recall seeing the one before and after in the same post, but not the Lester video.

All these blokes unsure of their orientation, with metrosexual tendencies and not sure if it's ok to love a man. It's quite alright to love a man you know, can even get married these days. I 've been known to sing "Lover man". Might have a bash at this one. Meanwhile...BiaB thinks it should be a Bossa.

I've got the Hal Leonard book of Lester Young's transcribed solos and it includes his recording of The Man I Love that he made with Nat King Cole and Buddy Rich. They weren't available for my recording session but the BiaB piano and drum tracks I made are OK and fun to play with. Even at this moderate tempo I struggle to play what Lester did and he was creating it faultlessly on the spot.
