I really like this soprano version. It's lyrical, out there just enough, but not crazy.
Beautiful piano work, too.
That was beautiful! Thanks for doing a soprano version. You really did the tune and the horn justice.
well that's the nicest thing anyone's ever said about me. I'll probably put this on my CV.Lovely tenor sound - reminiscent of Lucky Thompson to me.

Ohhhhhh, I dunno 'zactly what else to add. 😉 After I posted this, I was digging into my fading memory banks and actually realized it was the first alto player who brought the tune into our book, many moons ago. I too had never heard of it.That’s encouraging. I guess, to be more specific, it’s me on alto that has trouble with ballads. But I’m working on it.

I just think, as @randulo 's version indicates, the melody sounds really sweeeeet with an Alto voice. I think the melody lends itself to a higher-pitched sax voice, I guess.
Wow! I really enjoyed that. The vocal was a very pleasant surprise. You really owned the tune and put your personal stamp on it Well done!

It is subtle, but I would say you nailed it.I thought singing the second part would be easier than soloing! I was wrong, the melody is way more subtle than I'm used to.
Beautiful! Very nice subtone and I really enjoyed your improv.here is my attempt on tenore:

Not sure what you did, I just pasted URL into post and voila! And would some kind soul please explain to me why I can't get my Soundcloud link to embed properly?
Nice job! Your tone is really pretty, well suited to a ballad. I'm glad you used your extra time this way. Thank you. Improvisation will come.I could just keep telling myself that I will do it soon, or I can just do it. My lesson was canceled today, so I took my extra 2 hours (not that it took me that long to make this) and just went for it. I then proceeded to overreach and acted like I knew how to improvise, which I don't, so that part got cut out 😛.

Anyhow, this is a new set up for me, I think I like it. Its super loud, but I also think my reeds are too soft, so maybe getting harder reeds will help me out in the control department.
Overreaching is necessary to learn.I then proceeded to overreach and acted like I knew how to improvise, which I don't, so that part got cut out 😛
