Saxophones An ACTUAL Boosey & Hawkes made Alto...

It has many similarities to the Hawkes, it's quite simple keywise by comparison though, the rings that form the bow to body/ bell joints have the same distinctive profile as the Hawkes, the way the key guards are soldered to body/ bell is different, more like Pierret, ......difficult to say but I'd probably punt in the direction of a simplified somewhat cheaper version , made over here in England, I can't imagine they wouldn't use the existing resources and skills already in house via one of the component merged firms, certainly initially until they had made other arrangements if that was the long term plan for the new B&H

Hi all, I have just joined the forum to let any interested parties know that the Boosey and Hawkes 32 alto was definitely made by Hawkes and Son.
I have one of these from its original owner and the original Guarantee and Certificate for this sax was issued by Hawkes and Son and stamped in the corner BOOSEY & HAWKES. The certificate shows the serial number of my sax and the date of issue which was 21/4/33.

Hope this solves the mystery.
