Recipes Air fryers

It's a high speed convection oven. Restaurants have been using a version for decades. It's not frying, because you're not using heat transfer from hot oil to cook the food. No idea what idiot marketeer came up with that name.

"How are you going to cook that steak?"

"I'm going to steam it."

"Looks to me like you're cooking it over a charcoal fire."

"Yeah, but the Marketing Department decided to call it steaming."

Air frying would be very low temperature using liquid air innit?
I received an air fryer as a gift a couple months ago. Honestly it’s a good name “Air Fryer “. Although I use air roasting most of the time. I tried to air fry some brussels sprouts. I was close to catching them on fire. This thing works great at lower temperatures and shorter times.
low mess. lots of cooking information on Facebook.

One of the things the appliance is useful for here in summer is cooking veg outside rather than an oven in the house. I prefer roasted to steamed. The advantage of the cooker is the use of less oil, almost none, in fact. The fried potatoes I make are not crispy like oil-fried, obviously, but they're still very good. Things like pieces of chicken or fish work well, too. Another use is making carmelised apples, delicious. There are dozens of web sites with recipes:

Air frying? Isn't that marketing speak for roasting? :confused2:
I had a German friend called Herr Fryer...could they be related???

We seem to have one of these without knowing it. I think we bought it before the marketing people caught on and gave it a hip name. We just call it the oven.

We bought an air fryer a few months ago. It has changed the way we cook! Always trying new things like, asparagus. It cooks so perfect AND, bonus, the tops brown slightly and get a nice crispy caramelized light crunch to them.
Tonight we're trying Broccoli.
But does it mitigate the renowned olfactory consequences?

One nice thing about these is that it's easier to open and adjust or season while things are cooking. I usually give things like fries a quick shake to make sure they don't stick together. One of the things we make often is sweet potato "fries". They can be cut lengthwise or into small pieces. The auto stir arm allows even cooking and they're delicious. We use a salad oil sprayer to coat foods with a small amount of oil. Foods are never greasy, but can be caramelized as you mention, @Figaro . Most of our cooking is done with the arm that "stirs" the food, but I bought the basket accessory that turns for things like pistachio-encrusted tuna. You can also cook recipes that have sauce, like chicken and vegetables.
