What do you guys think about playing with a *dry* mouthpiece?

Yes, strange. Ther's not much you can do about it, what with condensation and saliva.

Plasticover reeds can be played dry.

Personally, my reeds have to be pretty darn soggy to play well, which even after wetting takes about ten minutes of playing to achieve. Then of course, the mouthpiece, crook, and body gradually start to fill up :x
