We Brits have Mothering Sunday earlier in the year. I'm told that its origin is Victorian, the day when young people in service (ie house servants) were allowed to go home to see their mothers. Nowadays it's widely known as Mothers' day and has been developed by the cards and gifts industry as a means of selling their wares. They're also promoting Fathers' Day for the same purpose. I think that deally the industry would have one national celebration per month.A lot of good advice given on this and most appreciated. Sorry for taking up so much time, especially since it's Mother's Day. At least here in the US. I don't know if the UK has such a recognition of Moms or not.
