Will be my first gig with the splitters!
Yes i hope it does to, just heard it gets a bit roudy in there and probably not the best place for a first gig or indeed the best place for an almost 5 grand sax! Looking forward though and a friend's videoing it so i should have something to show for my efforts (probably a bent sax).
Yeah, thanks for that Taz; it would heve been good to meet you again, come a long way since i last saw you at that jam night at the Squirrel in Rugby when i dern't get it out in front of anyone...i struggle to keep it in the case these days ha ha...Dam I've got a gig that night otherwise I'd have come along. Have a great time Fraser, relax and enjoy!
Yes am thinking of using my 10m on this one.You need the B&S tenor Jon's selling...
but that'll make any other gig easy by comparison !! ;}Yes i hope it does to, just heard it gets a bit roudy in there and probably not the best place for a first gig
Well yesterday came and went.....must admit i was almost filling my pants late afternoon with the thought of the massacre to follow later, felt even worse when i got to Hinckley, when i managed to find the pub the drummer was setting up in the window and spotted me and waved, to late to back out now, they've seen me! anyway i started to ease up as soon as i walked in and met the others, waited for what seemed like ages before the support group sound checked, our bass and trombone were late getting there so we didn't do a sound check, just waited for the others to get done and clear the stage then we were straight on and playing, found it very relaxing if I'm honest, not at all horrific like i thought it would be, played everything more or less like it should have been played....apart from the last song which i thought was my strongest, trumpet player did something differently to what he normally does and threw me a bit and made me cock one bit up but nobody seemed to notice....apart from the trumpet player who used to play and record with Laurel Aitken and Rico Rodriguez!
Must admit it seemed quite surreal headlining on my first gig and people dancing and aparently enjoying it just a couple of feet in front of me!
Funny thing was on the flier it said starts at 8pm, i thought great will be back home and in bed for 11.....how wrong was i, we diddent go on until 11.30!!!
