Forum may experience some downtime today any time after 14:00 BST (or 06:00 PDT 09:00 EDT). This is due to critical PHP vulnerabilities that may be affecting the majority of websites worldwide.

The downtime may be any time up until the release and implementation of a PHP patch to fix the issue which is now scheduled so should not be down for long.

Update: this is currently being patched as we speak. There may be a short outage when the server is rebooted.

Hi All,
Just booked my hello trip to my daughter in San Francisco, December 10th to 16th.
I've been there only once so far, 2 years ago.
Would be cool to meet with any of you living in that area.
Including a visit to some jazzy place, like the Keys or Yoshi's.
Or whatever you know, better than me anyway.
If you wan't me to bring some chocolate or who knows, a Swiss watch, ....

Love to meet you! Let’s try to arrange a get together, I’ll let you decide what day and time @dexdex, since I’m sure your family will have plans for you!

You might also be interested that Kenny Garrett is at SF Jazz on Friday 11-Dec. This is a great venue. There is also a community jam session there on Monday 14-Dec, probably mostly holiday songs will be played. Students and old people alike 🙂, but likely run by a local hotshot who may also teach somewhere in the Bay Area.

There are some smaller clubs in the city, and on the peninsula, but schedules have not been posted yet.

Hey cool.
Let’s get in touch.
I’ve met Steve in person at NAMM and months later at a gig where he played with Soybean from the other place.
You’re in for a real treat ! You won’t meet a kinder more life experienced engaging individual. Honestly, I wish Steve & I lived closer together. I could spend thousands of hours learning from him and his lifelong experiences.
Still I look forward to meeting him again at the symposium in January 😃.

I’m still on my coffee kick, and have come to appreciate Peet’s even more lately, even though it’s a “big brand” now. Lots of local roasters are focused on espresso, which I like when made well, but I am unwilling to put the time, effort and money into it for myself at home.

And the current trend toward light roasts has me scratching my head a bit. Just got a couple cheap bags from Amazon, and they are labeled “medium”, and “light medium”, but are definitely on the dark side, so not really sure where craft ends and marketing begins. One of the bags is going in the trash, it’s just bad coffee….

We should have coffee somewhere when you get here, @dexdex.
