Saxophones Saxophones, rarely discussed

It was a 1898 Conn, dual octave keys and no resos, not exactly an instrument that aligns with your playing style.
It reminded me of the song where the kid tries to make his grandma jump across a puddle 😏😏
I got to play a high pitched horn for the very first time at @LostCircuits ' place. An alto, and he can tell you a lot more about the particular make than I can. All I can say is that it didn't feel right. As in... now I know what a bad liver transplant might feel like. That kinda vibe. Couldn't get on with it whatsoever, but I much appreciated being given the opportunity.

Don't know the song, but I think its compatible with a Dutch song on very fat goose in oat straw.
I have a high pitch Evette alto, two octave keys, no rollers and a very large bore. It looks like a replica of the first Sax alto saxophone. Playing it feels strange. I think that since Sax bore sizes slowly evolved to the area between roughly Keilwerth and Yanagisawa leaving the more extreme sizes such as the Rothophone to the past. Going beyond that is outside the comfort zone.

Yes, those instruments were geared more for orchestral playing, Rock didn't even exist at the time. And it is a playable instrument but it takes some time to get used to, unless you are a classical player, still takes a minute but those guys who played it had their own MPCs which made it a lot easier, too.
