Thanks Sue, that's really kind.

I've contacted all those people over the last few weeks and had some lessons from Lindsay O'Malley. She's so busy over summer doing gigs she can't teach me til Autumn now.

I've not had a lesson since mid May and I'm getting a bit down feeling I'm stuck and not progressing. It's frustrating.

The search continues...

Hi Lisa

I don't know if you managed to speak to Ellen or Sophie but I know they are both not taking any more students on at the moment. Ellen is my sax teacher and she is having a break for a few months but she may take some more lessons towards the end of the year, I will let you know incase you haven't found one by then.

They both run a small single reed ensemble which they are looking to recruit more players if you are interested. I know it's not the same as having a lesson but it is great fun and i've found it a good learning experience. If you want more info send me a PM and I'll let you know everything I do.

I've asked my contact up North, who will be getting back to me with a possible teacher details in a few days (hopefully). Will let you know when and if I get them.

And here is the response from my norther contact...

"Now the saxophone teacher is Peter Lyons, tel.no. 0114 2584935 - and the guy who I got the number from is John Good - he'd appreciate it if your saxophone person would mention his name if/when he/she contacts Peter."

Similar threads... or are they? Maybe not but they could be worth reading anyway 😀
